Winemaker Notes
Colour: Deep, dark crimson
Aroma: The wine offers intense, pure aromas of cassis, black olive and blackberry. Dried herbal elements add complexity.
Palate: The palate is rich and harmonious, expect blackberry, mulberry and ripe plums, with rich earthy notes finishing with soft but firm tannins.
Ageing: Ready to drink now, but will most likely continue to improve for 3-14 years.
The vintage: The key to this vintage was that there were no heat spikes and the season turned out to be cooler with a slower, longer ripening period. These conditions influenced the production of 'good to excellent' fruit, described as 'textbook' in some parts.
Food Friends: Cabernet Sauvignon is an ideal choice for the 'hearty-warm' meals of winter - pepper steak, roast lamb, beef bourguignon or lamb shanks with roast vegetables.
